DEACON’S CORNER - Jan 2024

Greetings to all our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. As we begin a new year, let's bring our hearts and minds closer to Jesus.

Be on the lookout for a February super bowl bake sale. All donations go to the Open Door and Code Blue mission. Sheryl and I and many other volunteers from our church have volunteered serving meals there with great satisfaction in serving others. If anyone is interested in volunteering, please contact Lisa White or Kelsey Tuttle.

Thanks to all the volunteers who took part in Argyle Country Christmas. Cookie painting, caroling, hot cocoa and fellowship with the community. Despite the rain we had a pretty good turnout. Again, thanks to all.

As Deacons we are asked to do a three-year term of service, once approved by Session and voted in by church members. Judy Liddle, Bonnie Wells and I have completed a six-year term. I am blessed to have served with all of the Deacons as well as our congregation. It has been a great privilege and we thank you. Three candidates have been selected and will be voted on soon. Please pray for them as they go on their journey of serving our church and our Lord Jesus Christ.

It has been a great pleasure to have had the opportunity to be your columnist for the Pathfinder for the last four years and it’s time to go into semi-retirement (lol). Only the Lord knows when he calls us back to serve. May God bless us all!

“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should walk in newness in life.” Romans 6:4

Have a great New year!

Grateful to be in service with you, Tim Banfield for the Deacons
